Rockson Road is preparing to bring its new album, Thunder In The Peach Can, to the stage at Gabriola’s Phoenix Auditorium on Friday, September 18.
Released August 21 on Rockson Road Records, the 12-track album runs just over an hour and brings together the songs and production of Nathan Sobko with the musicians who have helped shape Rockson Road’s sound. Nathan is credited throughout the record on vocals and guitar and as producer, with José Vieira on guitar, Tomas Jackson on bass and Derek Mattes on drums forming the recurring band core. Thomas Jacobson, Josh Weed, Robert Egli and others also appear across the album.
The record includes Dopamine, Married to the Music, Chain Reaction, Fear Is an Illusion, Rock Me Steady, Lover of Horses, Here I Go Again, Sweet Sweet Victory, Ricochet, Show Me Your Heart, Your Rock My World and Made On The Rock. Recording engineers Matthew Harker and Scott Rogers are credited throughout, with Rogers also handling mastering.
There’s some history behind that final track. Rockson Road released “May’d On The Rock” in May 2025, written and produced by Nathan and recorded at The Peach Can with Rogers and Harker. The single featured Nathan Sobko, José Vieira, Tomas Jackson and Derek Mattes — an earlier snapshot of the band and recording partnership that now leads into the full album.
A Special Phoenix Lineup
The September 18 album-release show expands Rockson Road to a six-player lineup:
Nathan Sobko — guitar and vocals
José Vieira — guitar
Josh Weed — guitar
Thomas Jacobson — keyboards
Tomas Jackson — bass
Derek Mattes — drums
The band says this may be the first — and possibly the only — time all six perform together for a single show. They’ll be playing songs from the new album along with familiar favourites.
The show runs 6:00–10:00 PM at the Phoenix Auditorium, 240 Davis Road, Gabriola Island. Tickets are $25, available at the door, with debit and credit accepted. The event is alcohol-free.
