Berry Point Studio is the content creation and livestreaming home of Gabe Radio and audio arts foundeded by Joani Thompson.

Berry Point Studio has a carefully selected range of microphones for broadcast speech, interviews, podcasts, vocals, instruments, live performance, and location recording. Different microphones suit different voices, instruments, rooms, and presentation styles, so the appropriate microphone is selected for each session.

Mixing and monitoring

Mixing equipment allows several microphones and instruments to be combined into a balanced program. Separate monitor speakers let performers hear themselves in the room, while the broadcast mix can be controlled independently.

This supports both simple sessions and larger live events with multiple performers, instruments, vocalists, and interview guests.

Recording

The studio can record directly to a computer or to portable multitrack recorders. This allows sessions to be captured as:

  • A finished stereo program.
  • Separate vocal or instrument groups.
  • Selected individual channels.
  • Portable location recordings for later production.

The system can be adapted for a simple conversation, a podcast, a live music session, or a larger event requiring multiple microphones.

Livestreaming and broadcast

Production and post-production

Recorded material can be prepared for broadcast or online listening through editing, level adjustment, noise reduction where appropriate, transitions, voice cleanup, music balancing, and other basic post-production.

The studio can also support more creative work, including Foley, sound effects, atmosphere, and soundscape production.

Location recording

Portable equipment is available for recording away from the studio, including interviews, performances, community events, rehearsals, and environmental sound. Location sessions can be recorded for later editing, broadcast, documentary work, or archival use.

About Joani

Joani Thompson is a producer, director, educator, and audio-focused media specialist with lifelong experience in photography, film, television, theatre, radio, livestreaming, and teaching. She is also certified in Event Management, specializing in live sound reinforcement and remote broadcasting.

As a third-generation photographer and filmmaker, Joani brings a broad production perspective to each project. Her audio work includes foley, soundscapes, field recording, microphone technique, speech, voice presentation, on-air skills, and live broadcast production.

Joani has also taught speech and stage presentation to students, bringing a patient and practical approach to working with people who may be new to microphones, cameras, recording, or live broadcasting.

Berry Point Studio is not presented as a traditional commercial recording facility. It is a flexible media and broadcast environment designed to help people create, record, and share their work.
