Airstreaming features musicians, artists, creators and interesting people with something worth talking about, hearing or discovering.
You don’t need to have your own radio show, podcast or streaming setup. You bring what you do. We’ll help with the rest.
Whether you’re releasing new music, working on an interesting project, putting on an event, pursuing an unusual idea or simply have a story we think people would enjoy hearing, we’d love to introduce you to our audience.
What Does Being a Guest Involve?
Usually, it starts with a conversation.
We’ll talk with you about what you’re doing and what you’d like people to know. For musicians and performers, we may also feature some of your work or include a live performance.
We prepare for the interview in advance, so you don’t have to worry about what to say or how to turn yourself into a broadcaster.
This isn’t a job interview. We want you to sound like you.
You Can Join Us From Almost Anywhere
Airstreaming is designed for remote participation. You don’t have to be anywhere near our studio.
You can usually join us with a phone, tablet or computer and an Internet connection. Headphones or earbuds are recommended, and if you have an external microphone, even better.
We’ll send you the information you need before the interview and help you determine the simplest way to connect.
If you happen to be nearby, we also produce interviews and performances from Berry Point Studio on Gabriola Island and on location.
Sound Comes First
Airstreaming is an audio-first platform, so good sound matters to us.
Don’t worry if you don’t own professional equipment. We can help you make the best use of what you already have.
When video is appropriate, we’ll also talk about simple things such as lighting, camera position and presentation. We want you and your work to come across well without turning participation into a technical project.
Help Us Get to Know You
Before your appearance, we may ask you for:
- Your name and contact information
- A short biography
- A good photograph, poster or promotional image
- Your website and social media links
- Music, audio or video you’d like us to hear
- Upcoming performances, releases, events or projects
- Anything you’re particularly hoping to talk about or promote
Most importantly, we’re interested in the person behind the work.
What are you creating? Why are you doing it? Where did the idea come from? What have you learned? What are you working toward?
Those are often where the most interesting conversations begin.
Tell Your People
Once your appearance is scheduled, we’ll give you information you can share with your own audience.
Let people know you’re going to be on Airstreaming. Share it through your social media, website, mailing list, friends, family and followers before the programme, and remind them when it’s getting close.
We’ll also promote the programme through Airstreaming.
That way, your audience discovers us, our audience discovers you, and everybody has an opportunity to discover someone new.
After the Broadcast
The conversation doesn’t necessarily end when the live programme does.
Selected interviews and performances can remain available through Airstreaming, giving you something you can continue to share afterwards and giving new listeners another way to discover your work.
Where appropriate, we can also connect your appearance to TipsOkay, giving people who appreciate what you do an easy way to support you.
