Welcome to Airstreaming

Airstreaming features musicians, artists, storytellers, community voices, guests, and people doing interesting work.

You may be joining us for an interview, a live or recorded music session, a conversation, a broadcast, or a special feature. Whatever the format, the goal is simple: to create something thoughtful, relaxed, and worth sharing.

What to Expect

Depending on the session, we may be:

  • recording an interview or conversation
  • recording music or a live session
  • broadcasting live
  • creating a podcast or spoken-word feature
  • capturing a performance for later broadcast
  • creating content for Airstreaming, Backstage, or related media

We’ll let you know in advance what kind of session we’re planning and what we need from you.

Before Your Session

Please send, if available:

  • your name or artist / group name
  • a short bio or backgrounder
  • a photo we can use for promotion
  • relevant website or social links
  • names of anyone joining you
  • anything you especially want us to discuss, feature, or avoid
  • technical information if you’re bringing instruments or special equipment

You do not need to prepare anything elaborate. A few useful details are usually enough.

Musicians & Performers

If you’re coming in to rehearse, record, or perform, we’ll help organize the audio setup before you begin.

Please let us know in advance:

  • how many performers there are
  • what instruments you’re bringing
  • how many vocal microphones you need
  • whether you need recording
  • whether the session will be broadcast or livestreamed
  • whether you have any special audio requirements

This helps us have the room ready when you arrive.

Interviews & Conversations

Interviews are meant to feel like conversations rather than interrogations.

You are welcome to suggest topics, stories, music, projects, or questions you would particularly like to explore.

If there is anything confidential, sensitive, or off-limits, please tell us before we begin.

Promotion

We may promote upcoming interviews, performances, and features through Airstreaming.org and our social media channels.

If you share the feature with your own audience as well, it helps everyone involved. Artists and guests are encouraged to share links, posts, and broadcasts where appropriate.

Supporting the Work

Airstreaming is an independent, community-oriented project.

Some sessions are editorial features or invited collaborations. Others involve studio, recording, broadcast, or production services.

Where appropriate, artists or projects may also be connected with support or contribution links.

A Few Studio Guidelines

If you are visiting the studio:

  • please use the setup provided for your session
  • please do not change mixers, routing, or permanent wiring
  • ask before plugging or unplugging equipment
  • please do not use drinks around sound equipment, studio instruments, or microphones
  • if you move something, please return it when you’re finished
  • garbage in, garbage out — please take anything you bring in with you when you leave

These few habits help protect the equipment and keep the space ready for the next session.
